On the GitHub Students landing page, search for your preferred .me domain name.
Claim the free domain
Complete the GitHub verification and check out — domain and PositiveSSL are free for year one.
Turn off auto-renew if you don't want it
After the first year the domain renews at normal price with auto-renew enabled by default. Disable renewal in your Namecheap dashboard before the expiry if you only want the free year.
