Notion for Startups: up to 6 months of Business plan free
Non-paying startups under 100 employees get the Notion Business plan with Notion AI free for 1–6 months — worth up to $12,000 — depending on whether a partner backs the application.

Step-by-step guide
How to do it
Check your tier
6 months needs a partner affiliation; 3 months needs a live website + company-domain email; <10-employee SMBs get 1 month.
Apply with a work email
Apply at notion.com/startups-apply. Gmail and Outlook addresses are rejected.
Present a real business
A live product website and company social presence keep you in the 3- or 6-month tier.
Wait for approval
Approved grants apply the Business plan + Notion AI to your workspace for the trial months.
Plan for the paid switch
After the trial, Notion bills $20/member; decide whether to stay, downgrade, or export before it renews.
Details & Context
Notion's startup program has three tiers based on your background. Partner-backed startups (affiliated with one of Notion's VC/accelerator partners) get 6 months of the Business plan including Notion AI. Startups without a partner get 3 months if they have a valid business website and a company-domain email. SMBs under 10 employees — or startups with incomplete business information, parked websites, only personal social profiles, or solo applicants — are downgraded to 1 month. The Business plan costs $20/member paid annually, so the full 6-month offer equals up to $12,000 for a 100-person company. You must be a non-paying Notion customer who has not received a previous promotion.
