Perplexity Pro: discounted for verified students
Perplexity sells Pro (frontier models, file uploads, the Comet AI browser) to verified students at a student rate instead of the $20/month consumer price.
Step-by-step guide
How to do it
Open the student hub
Go to perplexity.ai/students and sign in with Google or email — any email works to start.
Verify your student status
Follow the enrollment verification prompt; that unlocks the student-specific Pro price at checkout.
Buy at the discounted rate
The price shown after verification is the student rate and includes access to Comet.
Compare against standard Pro
Regular Perplexity Pro is $20/month; the student rate is lower but varies by promo.
Details & Context
Perplexity runs a dedicated student verification flow at perplexity.ai/students. Sign in with any email, verify your student status, and the Pro plan is offered at a student rate that includes Comet, the company's AI browser. The landing page does not publish the discount percentage or final price — the number you see at checkout after verification is the discounted one, and it can change with current promotions. Treat the exact rate as variable and compare against the standard $20/month Pro price when you get there.
